Chugey Sayarut were born out of true friendship and a love of the Land of Israel and were founded by the friends of the late Uri Maimon who fell in the Yom Kippur War. The vision which directed them then and continues to lead us today is the education of the young generation that is connected to the Land, Man and Society.
We believe the outdoors is the best classroom and a hiking expedition in nature is the most powerful way to build character. By means of hands-on learning and true challenges outdoors, our participants discover personal strengths they did not know they had. They develop personal and group abilities as well as the value of personal responsibility, leadership, camaraderie and mutual responsibility. The outdoors becomes a dynamic educational space in which participants cope with challenges, develop resilience, gain leadership skills and life skills essential for navigating a changing world.
Going out into nature fosters a love of the land among those who walk in it, creates a deep relationship with its landscapes and paths and brings them into meaningful contact with the human and cultural mosaic that makes up Israeli society. We believe that this activity builds a healthy cohesive Israeli society with personal and national resilience, that strengthens Zionism and encourages civic involvement.
