Our Vision

KKL-JNF Youth Hiking and Leadership Clubs were born out of true friendship and love for Israel and were founded by the friends of the late Uri Maimon, who fell in the Yom Kippur War. The vision that guided them then, and continues to lead us today, is educating a young generation connected to the land, to humanity, and to society.

We believe that the outdoors is the best classroom, and the journey in nature is the most powerful way to build character. Through experiential education and real outdoor challenges, our participants discover strengths they did not know they had. They develop personal and group skills, and gain values of personal responsibility, leadership, friendship, and mutual support. The outdoors becomes a dynamic educational space where participants face challenges, build resilience, and gain essential life skills to handle a changing reality.

Alongside the personal development of every participant, we aim to positively shape Israeli society by nurturing engaged, proactive citizens who possess a deep love for the land. Our goal is to serve as a leading force in fostering a culture of outdoor exploration across Israel—one built on personal responsibility, professional excellence, nature conservation, and a deeper bond between people, the land, and the community.

Our Programs

Our programs include educational and training activities that take place within the Youth Hiking and Leadership Clubs, beyond the regular youth organization activities.

This includes the Scouting School, which runs professional journeys and training in pre-military academies, Service Year ( Shnat Sherut) frameworks, and for youth movement leaders. Additionally, the program includes the Nature & Environment Division, which provides experiential outdoor programs for elementary and middle schools during school hours, under the Ministry of Education's "Gefen" program.

In addition, the Green Horizons Leadership Clubs run leadership and training programs for military units, as well as unique activities in the Ultra-Orthodox sector to promote safe outdoor hiking. In addition, courses in navigation, tracking, outdoor skills in Israel and abroad, parent-teen trips, and trail safety are open to the general public.

Through this variety of programs, we work to empower leadership skills, outdoor safety, environmental education, and responsible hiking among diverse groups, from schools to professional and military training frameworks.
