The activity strengthens the bond between participants and their environment, community and Land and nurtures values of responsibility, capability, leadership, and civil involvement. Alongside practical, challenging experience in the outdoors, hiking with a loaded pack, navigation, cooking by campfire and sleeping in sleeping bags – participants are also involved in community action and the upkeep of nature and heritage sites in their local area.

In addition we see our participants as agents of change conveying the values of the Sayarut – the love of the Land, nature and community, within their own families, communities and with the citizens they meet in their urban landscapes. Chugey Sayarut run community activities in the communities where they are based, across a range of areas: free guided tours for local residents, upkeep of nature sites near homes, help organizing green-themed city events (such as Tu BiShvat), beach and site cleanups, and more.

Chugey Sayarot Graduates are leaders of goodwill, Zionism, and love of the Land and of people everywhere, paving the way to a better, more accepting Israeli society.
