The Outdoor Leadership Academy is a leading professional body specializing in outdoor education, fieldcraft, and hiking skills. Through experiential outdoor activities, we foster a deep connection to nature and the land, cultivate personal and environmental awareness, and build independence and leadership responsibility.
The Academy was established under KKL-JNF’s Green Horizons Youth Movement and draws on decades of expertise in outdoor education and fieldcraft. Our activities are led by roughly forty top-tier outdoor professionals—veteran educators with extensive experience guiding treks and expeditions in Israel and across the globe.

This two-day training course provides practical tools for outdoor leadership, risk management, and group dynamics. Participants will learn how to handle stepping out of their comfort zone and how to create a meaningful educational process in nature. The program can be delivered as a traditional backpacking trek (carrying gear on back) or with full logistical support.
A multi-day expedition (3–6 days) where participants navigate unfamiliar terrain while carrying gear on their backs.
Program Highlights:
Hands-on Field Skills: Includes navigation, sequential missions, and expert-led instruction.
Safety & Control: Full real-time monitoring through satellite GPS trackers assigned to every group unit.
Activity Locations: Upper Galilee, Jerusalem Hills, Judean Desert, Negev, and the Arava.

A multi-day expedition (3–6 days) with a strong focus on adapting to extreme conditions.
Participants learn and practice essential outdoor survival skills, including field navigation, finding and purifying water, starting fires, building shelters, and finding north. The team navigates unfamiliar terrain with their equipment on their backs, completing tasks and receiving professional instruction while being monitored via satellite GPS trackers for maximum safety.
Activity Locations: Upper Galilee, Jerusalem Hills, Judean Desert, Negev, and the Arava
Ranging from a single study day to a full week, this program is designed for organizations looking to master professional land navigation.
Participants begin with theoretical lessons using professional training materials, followed by practical,practical training in the field.
Activity Locations: Upper and Lower Galilee, Ramat Menashe, the Judean Foothills (Shephelah), Goral Hills, and the Negev Ridges.
This series gives participants a whole new direction in the field.
Designed for groups looking for a deeper team-building experience in nature. The course consists of 2 to 20 sessions (ranging from half-day to full-day meetings), held every two weeks or monthly.
Core Activities:

* Shelter building
* Tracking skills
* Foraging and plant identification
Through these practical skills, participants go through a process that strengthens group bonding, builds a connection to nature, and helps overcome fear and challenges—creating an empowering and unforgettable experience.
